• I am a Daytrader/Swingtrader/Long term investor. Will I benefit from the journal?

  Daytrader – absolutely yes, the journal was made for you;

  Swing trader – although the journal was created with daytraders in mind it works very well for swing traders also. It even has some swing trader specific questions. The only difference is that you will carry over the trades in the trading tabs from one trading day to the next.

  Long term investor – the journal is probably not for you, since you are not as active with your trades it will be more burden than provide value. Since most of the questions are built around a more active trader.

  Somebody who doesn’t fall into above definitions – the rule of thumb to really see the benefit of The Ultimate Trading Journal is if you make at least a few trades per week, the journal will help you. Anything less than that and you are likely to get less to no value from the journal.

• I only trade <....> instruments, is the journal for me?

  The Ultimate Trading Journal is primarily created for daytraders. It really does not matter what type of instruments you trade, cryptocurrencies, forex, index futures, options, vertical spreads or a combination of them – the journal will do just fine. I personally am a complex option strategy trader primarily and use the journal without any troubles inputing the strategy type with the quantity, for example 10BP (Bull puts). Nothing else changes. As you can see doesn’t matter the trading style, the journal works fine.

• I don't have a trading system/I am a discretionary trader. Can I use the journal?

  You don’t need to have a specific trading system to benefit from The Ultimate Trading Journal. Psychological trading patterns prevail whether we have a system or not, so we can start improving our trading psychology anytime. 

  However, important thing to note is that not having a system is an issue in itself that may keep you from trading success. While you can start journaling without having a system it is highly advisable to extract a systematic trading approach sooner rather than later. Having a system helps solve a number of psychological issues and makes it easier for traders to follow good trading practices. While some traders may have “a gift” or incredible market insight developed during years of trading that helps them trade successfully with their discretionary approach, majority of traders are not like that.

• Paper journal seems to be very laborious. Is there a digital version?

  Digital version of the journal is in development at the moment. A beta launch is planned in Q4 of 2022. Everyone on our mailing list will have an early access, please subscribe to our mailing list below if you are interested in joining the waiting list. (We will not spam!)

  That being said, there are a number of benefits to writing by hand instead of keeping a digital log. Handwriting has been shown to engage our brain in a much more effective way than typing, especially parts of the brain responsible for analytical thinking. It builds stronger neural connections too. Do not dismiss handwriting before trying it. The journal takes 5 minutes to fill in every day, and yields incredible results.

• I want to order a bunch of journals

  If you want to stack up on journals for yourself or gift some out to friends, your best bet is choosing our Annual subscription plan and specifying in the order details that you would like all 12 journals shipped to you instantly. That will be the cheapest way to get 12 journals.

  If you are a proprietary trading firm, trading incubator or some other organisation and want to order a large quantity of journals email [email protected] with the details of your request and we will provide a custom solution to fit your needs.

• I want to order customized journals

  For organisations that would like to have a customised journal for internal use please contact us at [email protected] with your request and we will provide a solution.

  Everything in the journal can be fully customised from the cover all the way to internal pages and design. If you want different questions or a whole different sections added, we can make it happen.

  Minimum order quantity for custom journals is 500 units.

• How do I cancel my subscription?

  Simply log in to your account, under subscriptions tab you will be able to cancel your subscription. If you are not sure what your account credentials are, your username is the email you purchased your journals with. After the purchase you receive an email asking you to set the password for your account. If you did not do that yet, feel free to find that email and set the password now. If, however you are unable to log in to your account for some reason there are other ways to cancel your subscription.

  If you purchased via PayPal simply login to your PayPal account and cancel the subscription under recurring payments section.

  Or send us an email to [email protected] and we will cancel your subscription within 24 hours. Be sure to send in any cancelation requests at least 5 days before your next billing date to make sure you cancel in time and don’t get billed again.
